For Tommy Mello, a business book was a obvious next step in his quest to raise his profile as The Home Service Expert. He just needed someone to take what he had from good to great.

Book Strategy and Planning
Tommy Mello was referred to me by Al Levi, author of The 7-Power Contractor®. Mello already had a book (done with a different editor) but it did not accurately reflect his brand, expertise, or his voice. I worked closely with Mello to understand his vision for the book and its “job to be done,” and we created a working table of contents “outline” around that.
Developmental Editing
I reviewed and reworked the existing content, worked with Mello to fill in the gaps, and conducted dozens of interviews with the owners of home service industry-related experts, which I then edited and placed throughout the book.
Book Project Management
This was another end-to-end project where I managed the copy editor, art directed the book cover and book interior design, identified and engaged an expert for assistance with indie publishing tasks, secured permissions, and more.
Outcome
The result was Amazon best seller Home Service Millionaire: How I Went from $50,000 in Debt to a $30 Million+ Business in Seven Years, published by The Home Service Expert in December of 2018.
