Key Challenges & Approach
Planning: Worked with author to develop book concept and content strategy that would deliver maximum value to technology executives.
Developmental Editing: Developed and iterated book concept, which centered on in-depth interviews with 19 technology executives across industries. Distilled their advice into seven "superpowers" and developed author essays expounding on those powers. Parsed through over 50 interviews to extract content appropriate to book's controlling idea and structure.
Research: Scoured the Internet and to surface secondary research that would enhance or support the author’s ideas.
Project Management: Managed copy editor, art directed book cover and book interior design, engaged expert for assistance with indie publishing tasks, secured permissions, and more. Kept author engaged and on task.
Author Experience
“Helena saved my book. When I met her I had an idea about what I was going to write and she had the courage to tell me right away it was a bad idea. She was right. We worked together to help craft a fantastic book, find my voice, create a better story. It was a wonderful experience and she made me and the book better.”
